WEST Harrow's Whitmore High School will be able to open longer outside of school hours to improve community access to parts of the building like its halls and sports facilities.
The Porlock Avenue school can open 7am to 10pm Monday to Thursday, 7am to 11pm Fridays, 9am to 11pm Saturdays and 9am to 9pm Sundays and public holidays after Harrow Council's planning committee granted planning permission on Wednesday evening (Mar 16).

PLANS to extend West Harrow's Whitmore High School's opening hours to allow community use longer into the evening were recommended for approval at the meeting of Harrow Council's planning committee to be held on Wednesday.
The Porlock Avenue school wanted to vary its planning permission of 2008 to stay open between 7am and 11pm on Fridays and 9am and 11pm on Saturdays with Monday to Thursday remaining unchanged at 7am to 10pm and Sundays and Bank Holidays at 9am to 9pm.
