Extra cash for pensioners during the cold winter

Pensioners and vulnerable people in Harrow borough will be entitled to money to help pay heating bills during the cold winter.

The Cold Weather Payment has been trebled by the Government this year from £8.50 to £25 per week.

Those eligible include pensioners, severely disabled people and families with a child under five or a severely disabled child. Payments will be made automatically to those who qualify

When do we recieve the £25 cold weather payment please?

Hi i Live in Ipswich where the weather is freezen & our housews are the pre war houses with not double glazed windows.they are so cold we have had to keep the heating on all the time just to stay warm.My 11yr old has heart problems.my 17 yr old has chest problemas bothy are asmatic plus I have Arthritis in most joints.Ive spoken to the council about double glazed windows &they have said they will look into it in 2013.we cant have wall insulation because our walls are all plaster board,so its like living in a cardboard box,i think our kind of houses should get help with paying the heating bill,im drerading my bill when it comes in soon.
